A week in Washington state! This was a fascinating holiday with my cousins, the McCanns. What a hoot! We traveled miles and miles every day, touring Seattle, 3 ferries, the docks, watched the salmon swimming upstream, the piers, the boardwalk, Pioneer Square shops, the original Starbucks, Pike Place market, Dusty Strings harp center (met Molly, in person!), met with Seumas and played a few tunes, went kayaking on Puget Sound, sculpture park, the Pacific Ocean at Ruby Beach (which reminds me, perhaps it was a ruby stone in the raw which I found on the beach while rock-hunting), overnight in a holiday house/cabin near Forks (didn't see any vampires), an elk walked through the yard there, enjoyed some fantastic restaurants and parks. Stayed with the McCanns in their wonderful new house and played "fetch" with their dog Lala, alias, Bella.
Great experience for Maureen and me. Last time we flew together was to London 14 years ago.
Missing them a great deal. Can't wait to go back in 2014!
