December Harp Music

REPOSTED from my blog: Laura the Harper. I have a great and growing schedule this month for harp performances! I'll be playing background music for a special 2-hour yoga class in Fishers. It will be a very relaxing evening. I'm excited to be playing the "Calm Harp" style music, which includes my own compositions of relaxation therapy music. I plan to make a CD soon of relaxation harp music with my "spa" tunes. My titles include "Rainforest", "Circles", "Light" & "Moonstone". I'll post a link to them when I get them recorded for YouTube. Here's a sample of the celtic tune "Far Away". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz72YZob6ew I'll be playing other gigs at Health Care Centers and already played an annual banquet at the Milano Inn.

The Knit Stop

I have a new favorite place to find yarns, needles and patterns, one of two favorite yarn shops. It's been in business for a couple of years but I only just discovered it! It's The Knit Stop on West 86th Street. http://www.knit-stop.com/
The shop specializes in luxury yarns and carries Crystal Palace bamboo needles that I prefer.
I'll be heading out for The Knit Stop tomorrow sometime to look at more sock yarn!

Saturday Night Knitting

Last night we traveled west to our favorite tavern for a wee dinner. Before and after our food was served, I continued to work on my latest pair of wool socks, a gift for my cousin. I've been knitting loads of socks again this Fall. Early morning, before I begin my Day, and evening, I work on them. I have a cozy nook at the end of my kitchen and it's the perfect place for a knitting corner. And here I can listen to audio books while knitting. Last week I finished another pair for myself, a light shade of striped yarn, a blend of cotton, wool and nylon. It was surprising that I chose that shade because I almost exclusively choose dark colored yarns for my socks. But I was happy with the result. The pattern slightly resembles Fair Isle in some rows.
